Privacy
Your data, handled lightly.
Renaiss OS Index is a public price reference. Browsing prices, indices and trade history needs no account and no personal information. This policy explains the little we do collect, why, and the choices you have.
Last updated · 24 June 2026
The short version
- The price data on this site is public. You can use almost all of it without signing in or giving us anything.
- Signing in is optional — it exists only to save a watchlist — and uses Google. We receive just your name, email and profile picture.
- We don’t sell or rent your data, run ad or tracking pixels, record your sessions, or process any payments here.
- Where we use analytics, it’s aggregate page-view statistics, not profiles of you.
Who we are
Renaiss OS Index (“the Index”, “we”, “us”) is a public reference-price site for collectible trading cards, operated by Renaiss at index.renaissos.com. This policy covers the Index site only. Buying and selling happens on the separate Renaiss marketplace, which has its own terms and privacy practices.
Information we collect
We collect as little as possible, and only for the features you actually use:
- Account information (only if you sign in). We use Google sign-in to offer an optional watchlist. From Google we receive your name, email address and profile picture, and a Google account identifier. We do not receive or store any password.
- Your watchlist. If you save cards, we store which cards you saved (card name, link, image, game and grade) tied to your account, so your list is there when you return.
- Essential cookies. When you sign in we set sign-in cookies (a session cookie and a security/anti-forgery cookie). They are required to keep you signed in. Signed-out visitors are not given these cookies.
- On-device storage. Your most recent searches are saved in your browser’s local storage so the search box can show them again. This never leaves your device and we never receive it. Clearing your browser data removes it.
- Things you send us. If you report a data issue or apply to become a partner, we keep what you submit — your message and any optional details such as a category, a source link or a contact email. To prevent abuse of these forms we also store a one-way hash of your IP address (not the address itself) and your browser’s user-agent string. A contact email is optional; we only use it to reply to you.
- Aggregate analytics. In production we may use Google Analytics to understand overall usage — which pages are viewed and how people move through the site. This is statistical and aggregate; we don’t use it to build a profile of you or to advertise. Preview and development builds load no analytics at all.
- Standard server logs. Like any website, our hosting provider processes basic request information (such as IP address, time and page requested) to deliver the site securely and keep it running.
What we don’t collect
No payment or card details (there is no checkout on the Index). No passwords (sign-in is handled by Google). No phone numbers or postal addresses. No advertising or cross-site tracking pixels. No session recordings or heatmaps. We don’t buy your data from anyone, and we don’t sell or rent it to anyone.
How we use what we collect
- To provide the site and, if you sign in, to keep your watchlist.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse of our forms and APIs.
- To understand aggregate usage so we can improve the site.
- To respond to data-issue reports and partner enquiries you send us.
We do not use your information for automated decisions that affect you, and we don’t sell it.
Service providers we rely on
We use a small set of trusted providers to run the Index. They process data only to provide their service to us:
- Google — sign-in (you choose whether to use it).
- Vercel — application hosting and delivery.
- Neon — the managed PostgreSQL database that stores accounts and watchlists.
- Google Analytics — aggregate usage statistics (production only, when enabled).
- Image CDNs — card images are loaded from the content networks of the marketplaces they come from, so displaying a card means your browser requests an image from those networks.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and watchlist for as long as your account exists; sign-in sessions expire on their own and can be ended at any time by signing out. Reports and partner enquiries are kept long enough to handle them and keep a record of corrections. On-device data (your recent searches) stays on your device until you clear it.
Your choices & rights
You stay in control of the little we hold:
- Use the site fully without signing in — then we hold no account data about you at all.
- Sign out at any time to end your session and clear sign-in cookies.
- Clear your recent searches by clearing your browser’s site data.
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold (for example under the GDPR or CCPA). To exercise them — including deleting your account and watchlist — contact us below and we’ll help.
Cookies
The only cookies we set ourselves are the sign-in cookies described above, and they appear only after you sign in. If analytics is enabled in production, Google Analytics may also set cookies to measure aggregate usage. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; doing so won’t affect browsing prices, but it may prevent you from staying signed in.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, sign-in is delegated to Google rather than us handling passwords, and we strip authentication tokens and cookies before storing any diagnostic request data. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep the data we hold minimal so there is little to expose.
Children
The Index is a general-audience information site and is not directed to children under 16. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
International processing
Our providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States and the European Union. By using the Index you understand that the limited data described here may be processed in those locations under the protections those providers offer.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site evolves. When we make a material change we’ll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the Index after a change means you accept the updated policy.
